Position : Furnace Technician - Dar Es Salaam
Our Client is a leading steel manufacturer, known for its quality and innovation, is seeking a skilled Furnace Technician. This company is dedicated to precision and efficiency in steel production, and the new technician will be essential in operating and maintaining their advanced re-heating furnace. It’s a great chance to join a reputable industry leader focused on excellence and safety
Responsibilities :
- Set and adjust furnace controls to regulate temperature and heating time using the PLC system.
- Operate and maintain the newly installed re-heating furnace to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage the melting of billets prior to the steel rolling process.
- Control air and natural gas pressure during rolling mill operations and respond promptly to any breakdowns.
- Measure the temperature of products to assess the need for furnace temperature adjustments.
- Maintain and operate the newly equipped re-heating furnace and natural gas station.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the re-heating furnace and natural gas systems to ensure reliability and safety.
Required profile for job ad : Furnace Technician - Dar Es Salaam
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in operating and maintaining industrial furnaces, preferably in steel manufacturing.
- Proficient with PLC systems and temperature control.
- Experience in air and natural gas pressure control.
- Ability to measure product temperatures and adjust furnace settings accordingly.
- Familiarity with safety standards for furnace operations and gas systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts and respond to operational needs.
